Sandwiches: One, Two, Done.

When we’re hungry and short on time, we may not make the best snacking decisions. Resist the junk food temptation and check out these quick, two ingredient sandwiches – simple, tasty, and easy enough to throw together when you’re running late.

The “Tomayo”

Toast a slice of crusty bread. While it’s still warm, spread mayo on the bread. Top it with sliced tomatoes (you can stick to red, or try the green or yellow variety), season with salt and pepper to taste, and you’re done!

Ricotta-Honey

Creamy ricotta cheese drizzled with sweet honey will likely taste divine on any type of bread, toasted or not. Spread the ricotta, drizzle honey to your liking, and, if you’d like to take it up a notch, add some pistachios to the mix.

Cucumber & Cream Cheese

Spread cream cheese on untoasted white bread and top with slices of cucumbers. The mix of soft bread, crisp cucumbers and smooth cream cheese is quite refreshing and a breeze to make.

Mustard & Cheddar

Bold flavors are what you can expect from this one. Use multi-grain or rye bread, and spread wholegrain mustard over the slice. Top it with slices of strong cheddar for a simple yet flavorful cheese sandwich.

Save Some Green By Showing Us Your Green Attire!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Whether you’re Irish or not, there are many of us who love to don green attire and celebrate the patron saint of Ireland on his death date, March 17. Originally, blue was the color of St. Patrick’s Day, but that changed in the 17th century and green became the holiday color. This made more sense, considering the color’s strong ties to the Irish culture.

Irish Flag

Green is a color on Ireland’s flag, along with white and orange. The green color represents the Catholics, the orange color represents the Protestants, and the white section in the middle of the flag embodies peace between the two sects.

“The Emerald Isle”

Ireland is so fondly considered the “Emerald Isle” thanks to its rolling green hills and lush, green landscape.

Spring

St. Patrick’s Day is just a few days before the first day of Spring (March 20), when the weather warms up and the greenery begins to flourish again.

Shamrocks

It is said that the shamrock was used by St. Patrick to help explain the Holy Trinity. Each leaf represented the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And, coincidentally, shamrocks are green as well.

If you stroll into the Brick Market & Deli on St. Patrick’s Day wearing green, you’ll be in for a treat. When you order a sandwich or Salad Your Way, show your cashier that you’re wearing green and we’ll upgrade your meal! Your upgrade includes a fountain drink from our Coca Cola Freestyle machine and a deli side salad of your choice.

Just remember, this offer is only valid on March 17, 2015, you must be wearing green, and must mention the promo to your cashier to receive the upgrade – limit one upgrade per customer. We can’t wait to see you!

In the meantime, you can browse our menu or place your order online at www.brickmarketdeli.com. You can also connect with us on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Vine, and LinkedIn. And don’t forget to tag us in your photos!

Our Anniversary Event With 93.1 JACK FM

pomona sandwichWe made it through our first year! Yesterday was our one year anniversary, and it was a great day. A big thank you goes out to our friends at 93.1 JACK FM for joining us, playing what they want, and supplying our lovely customers with awesome JACK FM swag.  And thank you to everyone who visited yesterday and throughout our first year – we would be nothing without you.

Despite the gloomy weather, it was a beautiful Monday for us. As usual, we opened our doors at 10:30am, with customers coming and going, dinsandwiches in pomonaing in and taking it out. At 3pm, we were joined by the awesome 93.1 JACK FM crew, who were equipped with goodies like t-shirts, stickers, fanny packs, and more. They braved the crisp, cold air and set up shop on our patio. Our customers were treated to some great music, conversed with the friendly crew, and picked up some goodies while waiting for their yummy sandwiches. It was a fun time for everyone.

Our deepest gratitude goes out to everyone who has been a part of our journey thus far. We truly appreciate all of the love and support from you all. This first year has been quite an experience and we loved every minute. We hope to continue to serve you the best for many years to come.
